But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. –Philippians 3:13, 14
Coaching is a ministry designed to assist believers in “straining forward to what lies ahead.” Rather than focusing on past hurts (which may be needful at times), coaches help people to build a vision for the future, develop new skills and strengths, and grow in new ways. It is a relationship that strives for open-hearted communication between the coach and the one coached. Together they seek the Lord’s instruction, guidance and direction, and together they give Him thanks for the increase. Together, the coach and the one coached explore objectives and set goals, discuss progress and setbacks, overcome obstacles and celebrate successes. Together they pursue sanctification, victory, progress of the gospel, and God’s will.
Coaching can be helpful in areas such as achieving a challenging goal, arriving at clarity over a difficult issue, breaking patterns of sinful behavior, developing healthy same-sex friendships, establishing priorities/time management, physical and athletic development, and financial stewardship.
An intake interview process and our Foundations course is required for participation. To make an appointment or for more information, contact us.
